CrossFit Gambit

Owner of CrossFit Gambit, Andrew Essig started the gym after a few frustrating years in personal training. He didn’t play sports in high school or college, but armed with a business degree and strong imagination quickly saw the faults in a typical “globo gym” setting. Personal training was expensive, hard to sell and a challenge to motivate.

At this point Andrew was introduced to CrossFit while working in a small personal training studio and was instantly hooked. Seeing it as a way to help many people at once for less cost and more results, he set to work on a business plan. With some help from friends and family, CrossFit Gambit was launched in 2009 and has been forging elite fitness ever since.

The Elementary classes are 45 minutes in length. The elementary classes will introduce a greater variety of functional movements. Instruction and practice will be interspersed with fun activities including climbing, tumbling, gymnastics skills and games.

Junior Varsity (5th-8th grade)

This hour long class will continue to utilize functional movements as well as the introduction of the barbell. The focus of the program will be on technique rather than the amount of weight lifted.  The goal of the CrossFit Kids program is to develop and improve general physical fitness in order to prepare kids to be safe in sports (and life in general).

Varsity (8th-12th grade)

Through the CrossFit methodology of constantly varied functional movement, this program will teach your teenager how to be explosive and powerful in whatever athletic endeavor they choose to participate in. The skills addressed expand to include the majority of CrossFit’s foundational and auxiliary movements. On top of that, because the workouts are constantly varied, they are less likely to fall prey to the overuse injuries that plague common training routines and year-round sports.
